A singing voice is a unique means of expressing people's emotions and feelings, helping one's mental health and satisfying the need for self-realization. Due to natural aging, health factors or lifestyle, problems may occur with age that affect vocal expression itself, such as voice color change, vocal range change, problems with singing longer phrases, or breathing difficulties. Singing and its development using a folk song for school age children
WOLFOVÁ, Monika
The main aim of this bachelor's thesis was to compile the basic knowledge of the importance of singing for the development of a school age child. The processing was done in terms of musicality development and from the perspective of educational influence. There are some practical examples of the developing of individual skills presented in this work too. All those previously mentioned issues are based on the theoretical findings. The thesis also contains treatise on folk songs. I recall earlier lives of people who were influenced with such songs and contributed to their emergence and wide spreading. The songs performed various functions and went through different stages of progression. In my work I exalt the importance of singing for the development of children. Most children meet folk songs from birth but its active operation usually fades later in their lives. Therefore I also included a chapter on the history and significance of folk songs.
